| Town Centres are therefore important to the
ORESA strategy for two reasons: |
| They provide many of the facilities which are
used and valued by residents, visitors and
potential migrants |
They are also important areas of employment
not only in retail sector, but increasingly in
the future in leisure and cultural based
employment and in various office sectors.
| |
| |
| |
The ORESA objective for Town Centres is
therefore:
| |
To promote transformational
regeneration projects that improve the
employment, education, cultural and
leisure offer of town centres
| |
Two current schemes are truly
transformational in their scale and in their
impact. They also serve to deliver a
range of other ORESA objectives. |
| |
These are: |
| |
-
Rochdale Town Centre East
- Oldham West End/Education Quarter
- Oldham Town Centre, Mumps
- Riverside Employment Zone, Rochdale
| |
ORESA will add value to these projects by
prioritising them with its investment strategy,
and through collaborating and coordinating
investment plans. |
